What are the policies for class registration?
Payment is due at time of registration; if there is a kit fee due at the time of the class we’ll let you know. If you need to cancel your place in a class, please give us 48 hours and we will refund the cost of the class. Any time after that, your refund will depend on enrollment. We reserve the right to cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment; your payment will be refunded fully.
What about bad weather?
Craft Akron will be closed in the event of bad weather, if the Akron schools are closed, we will be too. We’ll notify you about rescheduling your class.
Do I need to bring anything with me to my class?
You will receive a supply list for each class, please be prepared and ready before class starts. Don’t forget to bring along paper and pencil for any notes.
Fabric should measure 44” wide unless otherwise stated. If you have questions when purchasing fabric for your project, give us a call and we’ll help.
Yarn weight and gauge will be stated, create a gauge swatch before class to ensure proper sizing of your project.
If the class asks for them, please bring along *Basic Sewing Notions including: a pair of good fabric scissors, paper and pencil, seam ripper, straight pins and a pin cushion, machine and hand sewing needles, a marking tool and paper and pencil.
Do I need to bring my own sewing machine?
We have sewing machines in the shop for you, but if you prefer to use your own sewing machine, please make sure it is in good working order and you are comfortable using it. Don’t forget the power cord and foot pedal along with needles, bobbins and the manual.
What if there is a class I want to try but the time doesn't fit into my schedule?
Call Martha. You can either set up an appointment for an individual class, or she can put in a request with the guest instructor to schedule another class date. It never hurts to ask!
